Founder

Heather María Ács (she/her/Mx.) is a filmmaker, performer, and intimacy coordinator whose work celebrates queer radical joy and sexual subcultures. Her queer series RADIANT FLUX was selected for Series Mania International Market, Gotham Week Project Market, and Stowe Story Labs, was a 2024 quarterfinalist for The Writers Lab, a NewFest/Netflix New Voices Grant finalist, and a Screencraft Film Fund semi-finalist. Her films have played internationally (Best LGBTQ Short, Big Apple Film Festival, NY; Hollyshorts; London Short FF; Mardi Gras FF, Australia; Oaxaca IFF; Outfest; NewFest; BAM). She identifies as queer, femme, and Anglo-Chicanx. She was raised in a working-class family by a single mother in the southern Appalachian U.S. and is based in Brooklyn.

Mx. Ács’ intimacy coordinator work spans television and feature films, including Severance (AppleTV), Dead Ringers (Amazon), Partner Track (Netflix) and gay rom-com Fire Island (Hulu). She specializes in authentic representation for LGBTQIA+ communities, BDSM/kink, working with diverse casts, and body positivity. 

Heather María was the co-founder of Heels on Wheels a queer femme, all genders arts collective that toured internationally, produced a monthly queer artists’ salon in Brooklyn, and edited the LAMBDA award-winning anthology, Glitter & Grit, featuring over 60 intersectional artists. For decades she worked as a teaching artist and university professor teaching acting, performance, and arts education to students in public schools, incarcerated youth, English language learners, and in private institutions. Mx. Ács has extensive experience and is available as a workshop facilitator and guest lecturer.
